Malena and Graham's Shrine to '59: Living Room

The living room had its original grasscloth wallpaper and silk drapes, which complements Malena and Graham's collection of vintage midcentury furniture and a few new pieces, like the Case Study couch from Design Within Reach and the Journalist Bookshelf from IKEA. The IKEA bookshelf system in the living room was meant to copy the look of Bludot's Chicago 8 bookshelf. Malena and Graham really liked the design of the Bludot piece but it was far too expensive when they were looking to buy a bookshelf for their old apartment in Berkeley. Plus, the IKEA piece came with doors.
